Homespun started with one of the founders looking for ways to recreate some of the products that she often bought in stores, but to do so with ingredients she could pronounce. She also wanted to improve the efficacy, particularly for the melanated population since she was a Person of Color. She was intimately aware of how hard it was to find products that truly nourished skin and provided long-lasting moisturization.
In doing her research, she discovered that there were often questionable chemicals in things she used every day, including laundry detergent, body wash and lotions. She endeavored to find more natural, plant-based ways to do the same work and found that she actually preferred the simpler products! The results of her research created Homespun and is now being shared with you.
